no. at least, i don't think so. i mean really, c'mon! why do we go to school? "to prepare us for the real world" why do we get summer jobs? "to prepare us for the real world" why do we get into dating relationships? "to prepare us for the real world" why do we go to college? "to prepare us for the real world" why do we get married and have kids? "to prepare us for the real world" why do we have to buy our own cars and pay for gas? "to prepare us for the real world" why do we have to pay for our own college? "to prepare us for the real world. does the real world exist? how can it? our entire lives are all preparing us for what we so lovingly call "the real world," when, in reality, we die before we ever make it there! we spend 18 years in school preparing for the real world and learning real life skills, only to move on to college, where we spend another few years of our lives learning things that will get us into the real world. upon graduation, we get jobs where the big people will ultimately always look down on us, and the corporate food chain prepares us, yet again, for this "real world" experience. how many of you live in the real world? how does one define the real world? how many of you got your definitions of "the real world" from a movie, TV show, magazine, of the Internet? ["...and do be honest, this is for posterity." -the princess bride] I hope this made you think about this, so-called "real world," and maybe you even realized that the real world is actually a government conspiracy. (if you did, you need to a serious reality check, your living in your OWN kinda world.) So, with those parting words, I bid you farewell, and wish you luck in finding the real world.

instant messaging
Hello, my name is lacey, and i have a problem.
"hello lacey"
I am addicted to instant messaging. i have been for three months. i have a problem, and i need help.
*clap clap clap clap
(and back to the real world... *if you could call it that)
yes. i am an addict when it comes to people and talking, and instant messaging is just so convenient!! like all good things, it has its flaws, but right now, its just the good stuff were [*i'm] talking about.
the fact that you can talk to anyone anywhere without long distance fees or cell phone minutes! -FREE communication.
the fact that there really arent any akward silences, because you arent really SAYING anything. -the ability to TALK to guys without TALKING
the fact that you can use web cams if you wish, or just put up the best pic you have of yourself. -you always look your best
and who doesnt love all those funny little abreviations? (especially the animated ones *kill me now) lol, ttl, ttyl8r, sys, brb, g2g, rotflol, pos, pfa OME, etc, things that shouldnt be said out loud but still are. -lawl, mitu, tihi, haha, lawlness, ttm, pfa, tfa, pft, etc.
not using vowels! -'m ttlly gnst sng vwls! 'ts s mch sr t jst typ cnsnnts!!! wh nds vwls nywys?
and you can FORGET about punctuation and proper grammar! -r u there? i X homework, i dnt mk ny sns t ll! who still uses the proper english anymore anyways?
well, thats instant messaging for you, and if you arent ready to go out and buy it now, (*which is code for: go download it for free on the interweb) then stay tuned for my speil on "does the real world really exist?" which shouldnt really change your mind, i just make some good points.

the average day at my special school
8:30 - American literature, online course in the computer lab. (lots of homework. x_X)
10:00 - chemistry (2 hours of homework)
11:30 - lunch (my fave class, social studies)
12:00 - Algebra 2 (its ALGEBRA 2!!! does that NEED explanation? an hour and a half of homework)
1:30 - German 2 (my second fave class like, 30 minutes of homework)
3:00 - go home (do all my homework *which pretty much means playing my bass until I'm forced to start my real homework*)
this is my class schedule at my school, S.V.S. its a home school-support-school-thing, for home schoolers who want to graduate high school and actually go to college and all that jazz. (that's me) so yes, i am home schooled. it has its pros and cons, and depending on what time of the month you ask me, i hate it or i love it. it all just depends. i love my friends here though, we've got a great mix of high schoolers, (okay, not really a mix, most are punk-emo) but hey, that's my crowd!! i love those guys... most of the time. i only GO to school 2 days outta the week. (jealous? don't be.) on Monday and Wednesday I've got the schedule above, and on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday my mom makes me get up and do home school work and other homework, so contrary to popular belief, home schoolers DO NOT get to just sleep all day and do whatever they want. at least, not in my house, i cant really speak for the whole population. well, i could. but i wont. ANYWAYS, that's my average day at my not-so-average-school. hope you enjoyed this "day in the life" kinda deal, and have a good day doing whatever you're doing right now.
