I love this kid.

say hello to my beautiful new niece, Maiya Belle Brock, born 7:44 (ish) Dec. 30th, 2007, weighing 8 lbs. 11 oz. and 19 1/2 inches long. she is incredible, and totally gonna be the coolest kid there IS, because I'm gonna live with her for the duration of my four-year degree at whitworth in spokane, and I'm gonna teach her everything about God, and the Beatles, and Elvis, and the difference between music and GOOD music, and of course the guitar, she is going to be SO pro by the time she's in 7th grade. (probably before, but 7th grade sounds safe) obviously, i am excited about this. i think that i'll buy her a guitar. and give it to her for her freshmen year in highschool. and if she chooses not to pursue guitar, thats totally okay, we can go to the mall or something! i must sound ridiculous. but i have fallen in love with this new baby girl, and i want everything in her life to be absoloutly perfect. becuase she just deserves it.

Monday, December 24, 2007

well,

its that time of year again.

Christmas Eve.

and,

yet again,

i am sick.

this happens every year,

but this year is the worst.

i am dizzy,

swolen,

tired,

sore,

too hot,

too cold,

cramping,

coughing,

sniffing,

and

pmsing.

woot.

gotta love cold and flu season.

NOT.

but it could always be worse.

always.

like, i could be dying of cancer,

or typhoid,

or MRSA,

or something.

OR

i could just be dead.

(we're ingoring the fact that i would't be complaining under that circumstance)

so all in all,

i try to be optimistic.

but let me tell you!

if this is any worse tomorow,

i am absoloutly staying in bed.

which wouldnt be too bad, except for tomorow being Christmas and all.

so thats a lie.

i would get up, go to breakfast, THEN go to bed.

lol

Merry Christmas everyone!

From: The optimist.

PS sometimes people mistake optimism for stupidity.

i'll have you know,

just because im happy doesnt mean i'm oblivious.

it just means i appreciate not being such a depressed punk anymore.

lol.

well,

enjoy your day everyone

my birthday

is happening.

on the 10th, which is a

monday.

haha,

no school for me!

arent all ya'll jealous?

i get a whole month off school!

another reason to love college.

hollah!

of course,

for the soon-to-be parents,

schools been out for like, a year.

(more like 6 months, but whatever)

its not happening again soon.

lucky.

but i do enjoy school.

just not crunch week.

(or is it cram week?)

i have updated

my blog a little,

i tried to put a slide show on,

they're private right?

i

am writing from Spokane.

while my sister is looking at my blog on the computer next to me.

lol, life is funny.

today, i went to cabelas.

the hunter's haven.

not the place for me....

until

i "got lost"

and discovered the free fudge samples

and the green apple licorice.

so me and natalee sat at the cafe

and shared a fountain drink

and the licorice.

YUM.

we also scouted potential cuties,

then remembered we were in cabelas.

(groan...)

so yeah

but we did have our hopes up...

lol

oh well, my thoughts were elsewhere anyways....

*siiiiiiiiiigh....

haha

im so pathetic sometimes.

last night

i was up until 2 doing my history homework.

i am immensly tired.

it has not been graded.

today i found out that i have a huge speech on tuesday,

persuasive.

i spent an hour online looking for a decent topic.

obviously i found nothing, because

im pretty close to "dont vote for hillary"

seems easy enough....

tomorow i am going to olympia.

i will spend the car ride working on my speech.

i will not play my guitar.

i will not read.

i will not draw.

and yet

as miserable as this all may seem,

tomorow

i will be in olympia.

and

for a few short hours,

i will be in the company of a very dear friend.

and all will be forgotten.

oh the joys

here are some of the many joys that a (*scalding) hot cup of coffee can bring...

~warmth (hands, throat, *LAP)

~comfort (warm fuzzies, relaxing mood music, *fresh bandages)

~a good conversation starter (whats your favorite drink? which barista is the cutest? *why are you crying?)

what brought this on you may ask?

today i spilled a scalding hot chia tea latte in my lap.

wearing sweats.

i have as blister.

A BLISTER!!

not to mention the money that thing cost me.

and all of a sudden it comes back to me...

the reason i dont buy fancy-pancy drinks.

today was NOT my day.

Wednesday, October 31, 2007

so today

im writing from school.

which is cool i guess,

becuase

it means that i have all my homework done so far!!!

YES!

i have discovered the secret to success in school.

and it is this:

do the assignments on the days that they're assigned, and follow the day-by-day reading schedule.

it makes the long, boring history chapters seem a lot shorter.

which is nice.

so yeah.

still going!

also, i have an A- in history.

YAY!

and i got full points for my screen play/essay thing!

a stroke of sheer brilliance on my part.

but why state the obvious?

lol, kidding!

Monday, October 22, 2007

today i was

on the radio.

cool eh?

i played blackbird by the Beatles on the air on college radio

so i think im pretty cool now.

i mean, how many aspiring musicians never even get THAT far?

most of them dont.

but i have.

it was only like, a minute though, so i still have 14 minutes of fame left.

YAY!

also i talked.

about myself.

haha

it was great.

again, i love coty.

Friday, October 19, 2007

october has almost

disappeared.

how sad.

but today was simply beautiful, and

i have decided that i love life.

Wednesday, October 17, 2007

ok, ok,

if you insist, i'll submit a new post.

well, i was babysitting the other day, (yesterday) for the Garishes,

and Amy was talking about making cookies for her boss.

for boss's day.

and i thought that was just hillarious.

boss's day!

gimme a break.

well, i think thats aboat it. (aboat is the canadian way)

and unfortunately i have like, nothing funny to say, except may be that if the world is taken over by invisible man-eating fish, its Coty's fault.

because he informed me today that if the "invisible" fish in the deep sea just stopped generating neurons, they would be completely invisible.

so yeah. i love that kid.

Monday, October 8, 2007

a strokes song comes to mind

whenever i sit down to blog, and it goes something like,

"I've got nothing to say, I've got nothing to say, I've got nothing to say, I've got nothing to say, I've got nothing to say, I've got nothing to say, I've got nothing to say, I'm in utter dismay, I've got nothing to say"

so yeah. that about sums it up.

i really like the song though, for a bunch of guys with nothing to say, they write some good stuff about it.

although, it could be cheating to just say that they have nothing to say, but ive been doing this a lot lately, so whatever right?

anyways, someone give me a prompt PLEASE!

this is what's become of me? begging writing prompts from readers?

i am obviously in a rut, and need some starbucks.

well look at that! i managed to pull a whole post out of nothing.

i commend myself.

Thursday, September 27, 2007

i dont really

have anything to say, except for happy bday to Jordan of course, and that when people die, they should stay dead. (i just watched smallville) several characters died, then wound up NOT DEAD. very frustrating. also, i totally hate harry potter now. he should've died.

hmmm.

i sound rather cruel eh?

let me explain: it really bothers me when an author or writer cant just stick to something. if you kill a character, make it STAY dead. if you write a character out, dont bring them back ten seasons later! if you want people to respect your art, dont throw around death and resurection simply because you can.

its lame.

which reminds me

hows that novel coming along Mal? (now that you've got all this time...)

keep cookin that baby!!

because once it happens, you will NOT be able to write. mommy brain, and terrible two's and all that jazz.

Monday, September 24, 2007

so pretty much

i got sponsored for $100.

playing guitar for 30 minutes.

in the cafeteria, with equipment included.

did i mention that i love this school?

Thursday, September 20, 2007

so college is good

im actually enjoying yoga and public speaking, like, looking forward to being in class.
weird eh?
but history will be the death of me. prof is just boring, and explains in such a way that i have aarows drawn all over everything to attempt to connect HER ideas.

not something i enjoy.

LAME.

but my speech guy is just hillarious!! like he makes fun of (in a fun way, not a ridicule way) people in class, and has this accent thing, so that he sounds just like someone from veggietales, the mailman, eg: Grandpa George.
its hillarious.

my yoga class is painful, but im looking forward to improvement.

ALSO!! i met guitarists!!!!
and i got an offer to play at school for MONEY!!
and a guy named James, but not waggoner, but also from church,
said he'd like to help me record!!! SO good!!

i think i love it here.

Thursday, September 13, 2007

the ride home.... um... nevermind.

so i was gonna write about the ride home, but i decided that i would rather not. so instead, im just saying hi, cuz its been a while. also, my stomach hurts. for no reason. but that appears to be insignificant. anyways, i went back to school shopping and got two sweaters the exact same color, but in different styles. and my mom bought them for me. because i told her this story:

"so, i tried on these two sweaters, and they're like two different boys: i love different things about both of them.

now, if these were two boys, I could only have one.

but since they're two sweaters...."

and my mom bought them both for me, which is amazing, cuz one of them was like, $24!!! the other was cheaper though, so yeah. it all evens out i think... well, thats my story for today.

and also, i painted my guitar. and now it has flames. ("it looks like im going faster")
its pretty cool. and i totally love it.

Monday, September 3, 2007

spokane

im totally in spokane right now. my mom is in the background taking pictures of my sister and unborn niece. yesterday we drove from 7:30 am to 1:30 pm without stopping or getting out. so that was pretty sick. by the time we got there my muscles had atropheyed. and i for reals could not walk. lol. im so excited to be here!!!

Sunday, August 26, 2007

parties [birthday]

birthday parties are funtime.

i wish i had two a year.

that would be cool...

except for the part about getting old twice as fast eh?

well, happy birthday John Metcalf, on the 24th. (not today)

Tuesday, August 21, 2007

the fruits of the spirit...

so im doing this study thing on the fruits of the spirit, spending a week on each one and meditating on what different scriptures mean pertaining to the different fruits, and this is my first week, so i am on LOVE. and of course this means that i am PMSing all week. The scripture reference i'm using is Luke 6:27-36, but with special emphasis on verses 30 and 31. (Mal, you know what this is like) Now, all this is extremely taxing. everything is getting on my nerves, and i just really want to scream. and then hit something. and then both at the same time. and maybe after that i'll sit and hit my head against the wall for a few hours. *sigh. i just need a lot of prayer.

Saturday, August 18, 2007

the good, the bad, and skillet...

last night i went to freedom fest and skillet concert. ordinarily i would be talking about it for days, and riding the high. but i was severely disappointed. i am not a huge fan of skillet, I've seen better shows, I've heard better songs, I've moshed and been moshed harder, and there was no fight circle. and seventh day slumber canceled, and i love that band so much more. they are better live than on CD. its great. plus, the lead singer is a GREAT speaker. they missed their flight and couldnt make it, so the lead singer of esterlyn spoke instead. not an inspirational story. "i lead a good life, but my heart was full of pride. who wants to accept Jesus?" i sure couldnt have done better on such short notice, but the events coordinator couldve picked someone with a life story. i pretty much loved the band though, they were really good. then again, i bought a hoodie with their name on it before i heard them, so i was obligated to either like them or come to terms with the fact that i wasted $25. well, thats life eh? i did have fun just hanging out though. tonight "The Classic Crime" and "Pillar" play. that would be SO metal. i think i wish i was there. but i went last night, and am totally out of money.

Thursday, August 16, 2007

hmmmm... 3 a day?

3 a day. and not of dairy. but i just HAVE to say

me 'n God are totally tight.

and its awesome.

so yeah, just thought i'd throw that in.

even though that makes it the third post for today...

but whatever. they were all important!

well, im gonna go watch beauty and the beast w/ my sister in my room, so i'll catch all you cats later eh?

no thanks to you guys! ;P lol

i wrote the song with out any help on inspiration. and it turned out pretty good if i do say so myself... (which i do.) so yeah. i am pretty much VERY excited about the WHOLE thing, so yeah, that is today's great thing. also, i am really hungry.

a new song?

i am writing a song for my niece. and i am looking for inspiration. what inspires you?

Thursday, August 2, 2007

today's cool thing:

this entry is going to be pink.

because...

i am having a niece!!!

IN DECEMBER!!

what a birthday present that will be...

i just found out the sex of the child today.

i called a bunch of people

untill my mom made me stop because i was using cell phone minutes, and those arent free you know.

it was great.

and most everyone screamed.

except amanda.

but shes not even MY friend, i called to talk to her older sister Jen.

so that doesnt matter.

also:

IT'S A GIRL!!!

this is very exciting news for me.

and i am totally going to be the favorite.

AGAIN!

so take that.

i heard this song on guitar hero 2

this song made me laugh. then smile. then laugh. i can relate!!! (its okay, you don't have to talk about it if you don't want to kid!) i really can relate. its totally awesome. the guy doesn't sing it, he screams the rhyming parts, and just recites the dialogue, so its a really hard song to play, but Oman is it great! just sharing the joy. i love the ending too, so read it all the way. cool. then download it so you can hear what it sounds like. its very... interesting. and i LOVE IT!!

SENSES FAIL LYRICS

"Institutionalized"

[Originally by Suicidal Tendencies]

Sometimes I try to do things, and it just doesn't work out the way I wanted to.
And I get real frustrated and like I try hard to do it.
I like take my time and it just doesn't work out the way I wanted to.
It's like I concentrate on it real hard and it just doesn't work out
And Everything I do and everything I try it never turns out.
It's like I need time to figure these things out.
There's always someone there going

Hey Buddy:
You know, we've been noticing you've been having a lot of problems lately.
You know, you need to maybe get away and like maybe you should talk about it,
you'll feel a lot better

I go:
No it's okay, you know I'll figure it out, just leave me alone I'll figure it out.
You know I'll just work it out myself.

And they go:
Well you know if you want to talk about it I'll be here you know and you'll
probably feel a lot better if you talk about it, so why don't you talk about it?

I go:
No. I don't want to talk about it. I'm okay, I'll figure it out myself but they just keep
bugging me and they just keep bugging me and it builds up inside.

So you're gonna be institutionalized
You'll come out brainwashed with bloodshot eyes
You won't have anything to say
They'll brainwash you until you see their way.

I'm not crazy (being institutionalized)
You're the one who's crazy (being institutionalized)
You're driving me crazy (being institutionalized)

They stuck me in an institution
Said it was the only solution
to give me the needed professional help
to protect me from the enemy, myself

I was in my room and I was like just sitting there staring at the wall thinking about
everything but then again I was thinking about nothing
And my mom came in and I didn't even realize she was there and she calls my
name but I didn't even hear it, and she started screaming BUDDY! BUDDY!
And I go:
What, what's the matter?
And she goes:
What's the matter with you?
I go:
There's nothing-wrong Mom.
And she goes:
Don't tell me that, you're on drugs!
I go:
Mom I'm not on drugs I'm okay, I was just thinking you know, why don't
you get me a pepsi?
And she goes:
NO you're on drugs!
I go:
Mom I'm okay, I'm just thinking.
She goes:
No you're not thinking, you're on drugs! Normal people don't act that way!
I go:
Mom just give me a Pepsi please
All I want is a Pepsi, and she wouldn't give it to me
All I wanted was a Pepsi, just one Pepsi, and she wouldn't give it to me.
Just a Pepsi.

They give you a white shirt with long sleeves
Tied around you're back, you're treated like thieves
Drug you up because they're lazy
It's too much work to help a crazy

I'm not crazy (being institutionalized)
You're the one who's crazy (being institutionalized)
You're driving me crazy (being institutionalized)

They stuck me in an institution
Said it was the only solution
To give me the needed professional help
To protect me from the enemy, myself

I was sitting in my room and my mom and my dad came in and they pulled up
a chair and they sat down and they go:
Buddy, we need to talk to you
And I go:
Okay what's the matter?
They go:
Me and your mom we've been noticing lately that you've been having a lot of
problems, you've been going off for no reason and we're afraid you're gonna
hurt somebody, we're afraid you're gonna hurt yourself.
So we decided that it would be in your interest if we put you somewhere
where you could get the help that you need.
And I go:
Wait, what are you talking about, WE decided!? MY best
interest?! How do you know what MY best interest is? How can you say what
MY best interest is? What are you trying to say, I'M crazy? When I went to
YOUR schools, when I went to YOUR churches, when I went to YOUR institutional learning
facilities?! How can you say I'm crazy?

They say they're gonna fix my brain
Alleviate my suffering and my pain
But by the time they fix my head
Mentally I'll be dead

I'm not crazy (being institutionalized)
You're the one who's crazy (being institutionalized)
You're driving me crazy (being institutionalized)

They stuck me in an institution
Said it was the only solution
To give me the needed professional help
To protect me from the enemy, myself

It doesn't matter. I'll probably get hit by a car anyway.

last published july 5th??

wow. i guess its been a while eh? well, i went to camp!

I OPENED FOR A BAND!!!
(which means that i played one of my songs before the featured artist: "tragedy killed the wildebeast")

I GOT A STANDING OVATION!!! me and emma! MY FIRST CONCERT!!!
thinking about it still makes me all excited inside. oman. i played a SHOW!!! this was a camp talent show, and me and em auditioned, then the cute screamo band wanted me to start them a mosh pit, so we got the talent show guy to put our acts together. i was second to last, and they were last. it was thrilling! emily freaked out before hand and i freaked out after. during we were both fine. thats how i roll i guess, i freak out AFTER its over. like we're sitting down all calm and peaceful an hour after we've played, and all of a sudden i turn to emily and almost yell "we fricken ROCKED!!!!" "WE WENT ON STAGE!!!" "I HAVE A BAND!!!" and then since this was during chapel, she shushed me.
lol.
well, thats todays great thing. its actually friday's great thing, but im still riding the high.

Thursday, July 5, 2007

its been a while

okay, i really have no excuse for not posting in a zillion years. ive only been gone since the 24th. and i got back monday. the trip was sublime! i had uber funtime. we seriously sat around and watched movies and talked all day. also we took her dad's red '69 impala for a spin. wow. i love that car. also a shout-out to the Bashers, who's dad took us in a ride in his '70 grabber blue twister edition custom made mustang. Y-U-M!!! i love this car also. i am so into cars and guitars. and other stuff too, but thats all i can think of right now. weeeeeeeeeeeeelll... thats all for now i guess, M&M&m are coming over today!!! i cant wait to see how big she is!!! the weekend and everything

from the seventh till now, the thirteenth. going backwards. because i cant count.

today the thirteenth: nothing good yet.

Yesterday the 12th: hung out, went to youth group

Monday the 11th: drive home from silver wood. awake the WHOLE time. i was like "somebody shoot me!!!"

Sunday the 10th: silver wood ALL DAY. booyah. talk about funtime!! i went on EVERY ride, including the water park ones, EXCEPT for the "Panic plunge," because i will not do that ride. i have a strict no drugs, no cigarettes, no beer, no "panic plunge" policy. (for any of you who didnt know, thats the one that drops you on a zillion feet free fall.) couldnt walk hardly because i was so sore from wake boarding and not sleeping in my own bed forever.

Saturday the ninth: graduation day for Malerie and Matt! yay for them! party at moses lake! hotel, wake boarding, worked out in the gym, couldnt move because i was so sore. some great news: MALERIE IS PREGNANT!!!! how exciting eh?

friday the eighth: drove to ellensburg, i slept. hung w/ M&M, and took graduation pictures. (also hung w/ mini M&M, teehee)

so there you have it, everything you may have missed.

Thursday, June 7, 2007

oops

i missed a day. and i really have no excuse. well, i was gone most of yesterday, but when i was home, i was home like, alone. so i couldve written. but i was avoiding school work and re-decorating my room. (rearranging the posters.) well, oh well. today i still have NOT turned in my application for cama camp. it is VERY overdue. by like, a week. i would like it to be NOT over due more than a week, but i am lacking the required envelopes and postage stamps. how sad. i hope they still take my application. they're usually short-staffed anyways.

Wednesday, June 6, 2007

late night

just got back from my "date" with Val, the intern. she is uber cool. and 23. she thinks that she's old, but she's really not.

Monday, June 4, 2007

so yeah

that storm was pretty awesome. and it turns out that andrew and i were like, the ONLY people to see it. so yeah. i blame the aliens. it felt like a movie. two hicks sitting on a fence watching the cell phone towers light up, and then BAM: alien invasions. and we're the only people who saw it... hmmmmmm. well, whatever. i aced my german final AND my americal lit test!! booyah. im SO going somewhere on wednesday. jenn: my mom said its fine

Sunday, June 3, 2007

haha

i just realized that the last post says it was published today. well, it was. at 12:00 this morning i guess. thats weird to think about. it feels like last night, not early morning. but it is.

todays great thing: I SAW THE COOLEST LIGHT SHOW EVER!! yeah, it was like, an elictrical storm crossed with fireworks, nuclear warfare, and an alien invasion. flashes of red, orange, and white, some blue and purple, accompanied by occaisonal thunder, and real BOLTS of lightning. not just flashes for the lighting. like a BOLT. once THREE. it was UBER. and it lit up the whole SKY. beautiful! me and drew watched from a safe distance, it was "over the mountains" (the series of hills some miles away from our house) we sat on a fence and talked about the end of the world, nuclear warfare, m-80's, and aliens. it was SICK. uber.

Saturday, June 2, 2007

its pretty late

and i just got in from walking my dog. well, not JUST, but like, 30 minutes ago. its a BEAUTIFUL night out tonight. i REALLY wish i was out under the stars. its totally amazing. i have to go, compy off for the night. mariners won! (half my fam saw the game)yay for them. i dont really care about sports, people just seem to like it when they win.

Friday, June 1, 2007

im goin to a freshmen welcome party. its all girls, and were gonna get together and talk about boys, have a tickle fight, watch a sappy movie, cry, eat a ton of junk food, do each others' hair and talk about how to lose weight. j/k, but sometimes i get the impression that that's what guys think we do. too many chick flicks i guess...

Thursday, May 31, 2007

internet = x_0

i just typed a post, and our internet went out. so it got deleted. that makes me CRAZY.

ANYWAYS:

for keshia: The guy's name was darrian, freshman at AHS, self taught musician, (bass and guitar) and carries a great conversation. He'll be at the wildfire on tues, so if he's ur neighbor, you two can connect there, and if not, i can still re-introduce you if you want, because 1) he plays bass for his church band, 2) he carries a good conversation and can talk to girls, 3) he's mature for his age, and cute!

Saturday, May 26, 2007

new stuff and old stuff

new stuff: I have dyed my hair. however, i cant post pics because the ones my mom took were on her work CF card. so she had to leave it at work. but i will post them eventually.

Old stuff: you should all vote on band names. and visit my happy place. (very bottom of page) the post to comment on for voting is called "long time no see"

Friday, May 25, 2007

in reply...

in reply to Mal's comment:

On the bottom of my page i have this awesome pic of the beach, and the caption is "this is where i go in my head when life gets hard" so yeah. you should all go see it.

also in reply: ha ha about my main pic breaking out of the box, i spent almost an HOUR trying to find one that wouldn't, and cropping on photo shop, and making dimensions smaller, and finally i just decided to leave it, because i had to get off the computer and do my school work. *the online class**

Today's Great Thing: something that has been very heavy on my heart for a very long time has been brought out into the open, and is being resolved. i am incessantly happy. i feel loads lighter.

Also: I am dying my hair! semi permanent, auburn type reddish brown. i am phyched! i'll post pics as soon as its done. (like, TONIGHT.)

online classes

online classes are immensely boring. and i cant even complain to the person next to me about it. how miserable.

Wednesday, May 23, 2007

chemistry class

i am a little bit worried about my chemistry teacher. class was canceled today, because she is sick. it was cancled last day, and the day before, and then the day before the day before that. she is an unnaturally healthy person. (shes a SCIENCE teacher) its really weird for her to be sick. and her kids have been sick. but i havent had failed at any chemistry homework in a few days, so thats good.

todays cool thing:

Today's cool new thing: i can now play Death Cab For Cutie's "Your Heart Is An Empty Room" on acoustic guitar. I'm totally psyched. I'm gonna try to learn another soon. i <3 those guys
Today's thought: putting a lowercase "i" in front of anything now makes it sound high tech, irock, iblog, icomputer, itech, isounds, ipics, icake, ipie, ichair, ilamp, illama, etc. its ridiculous.

Don't forget to vote!!

i realized that if i keep posting, my "vote for the band name" post will closer and closer to the bottom of the page. so dont forget to vote for the name!!

Today's thought: Everything has a feeling attatched to it. Dwell on the things with good feelings attatched. You will be a happier person.

One a day?

im trying to post one thing a day. that would be insanely boring for people to read though, so im just gonna make them short unless i have something exceptionally great to say. today, my exceptionally great thing is that the dove chocolates with the fortune cookie wrappers are fun to read. (and tasty to eat)

long time no see

wow its been a while... but im back. yay for me! update: I have a band. its me and my bro Drew. it has two names: The Wandering, and The L.A. Experience. ( i need YOUR help to decide!) I play acoustic guitar, and drew plays bass. we have five songs. enough for an E.P.! here are the stories behind the names, read them and make your vote count!

The Wandering: this started as "wandering minds" because i pretty much write about the things that my mind wanders to during math class and various other boring things: life, love, friends, spirituality, school, boys, parents, music, becoming famous, going to concerts, whether or not my friend was serious about his suicide attempt, etc. so, "The Wandering" was my band when it was just me w/ my acoustic. my first solo record was gonna be called "Cast No Shadow" no story behind that, its the title of a drawing i did that would be the album cover. it means what ever you want it to mean. although i like to think of it as leaving no mark, being invisible, not being there, not existing, etc. but i also have "Cry Me A Solo, Bleed Me A Song" as an option. also a painting.

The L.A. Experience: Drew came up with this one, its simple enough; the Lacey-Andrew Experience. i really like this, but i cant let go of my old title, im attatched emotionally. kind of like an ugly little stray animal that you find, name, nurse to health, then want to keep forever and ever and ever and ever. like that. i think the name is really cool, but it sounds more punky, and the stuff i write is all pretty emo, on account of i only have an acoustic guitar and no drummer. and no lead vocalist. i sing, since i wrote, but im looking to replace myself. the first album would probably be called "Strangely Familiar" or something to that effect. (andrew came up w/ that one too).

Thats the story. now voters, start your compys. give which name you like the best and why, and your name could be mentioned in the "i thank:" part of the CD!! or something like that. ready set GO

does the "real world" really exist?

no. at least, i don't think so. i mean really, c'mon! why do we go to school? "to prepare us for the real world" why do we get summer jobs? "to prepare us for the real world" why do we get into dating relationships? "to prepare us for the real world" why do we go to college? "to prepare us for the real world" why do we get married and have kids? "to prepare us for the real world" why do we have to buy our own cars and pay for gas? "to prepare us for the real world" why do we have to pay for our own college? "to prepare us for the real world. does the real world exist? how can it? our entire lives are all preparing us for what we so lovingly call "the real world," when, in reality, we die before we ever make it there! we spend 18 years in school preparing for the real world and learning real life skills, only to move on to college, where we spend another few years of our lives learning things that will get us into the real world. upon graduation, we get jobs where the big people will ultimately always look down on us, and the corporate food chain prepares us, yet again, for this "real world" experience. how many of you live in the real world? how does one define the real world? how many of you got your definitions of "the real world" from a movie, TV show, magazine, of the Internet? ["...and do be honest, this is for posterity." -the princess bride] I hope this made you think about this, so-called "real world," and maybe you even realized that the real world is actually a government conspiracy. (if you did, you need to a serious reality check, your living in your OWN kinda world.) So, with those parting words, I bid you farewell, and wish you luck in finding the real world.

instant messaging

Hello, my name is lacey, and i have a problem.
"hello lacey"
I am addicted to instant messaging. i have been for three months. i have a problem, and i need help.
*clap clap clap clap
(and back to the real world... *if you could call it that)
yes. i am an addict when it comes to people and talking, and instant messaging is just so convenient!! like all good things, it has its flaws, but right now, its just the good stuff were [*i'm] talking about.

the fact that you can talk to anyone anywhere without long distance fees or cell phone minutes! -FREE communication.

the fact that there really arent any akward silences, because you arent really SAYING anything. -the ability to TALK to guys without TALKING

the fact that you can use web cams if you wish, or just put up the best pic you have of yourself. -you always look your best

and who doesnt love all those funny little abreviations? (especially the animated ones *kill me now) lol, ttl, ttyl8r, sys, brb, g2g, rotflol, pos, pfa OME, etc, things that shouldnt be said out loud but still are. -lawl, mitu, tihi, haha, lawlness, ttm, pfa, tfa, pft, etc.

not using vowels! -'m ttlly gnst sng vwls! 'ts s mch sr t jst typ cnsnnts!!! wh nds vwls nywys?

and you can FORGET about punctuation and proper grammar! -r u there? i X homework, i dnt mk ny sns t ll! who still uses the proper english anymore anyways?

well, thats instant messaging for you, and if you arent ready to go out and buy it now, (*which is code for: go download it for free on the interweb) then stay tuned for my speil on "does the real world really exist?" which shouldnt really change your mind, i just make some good points.
seeya on IM!

the average day at my special school

8:30 - American literature, online course in the computer lab. (lots of homework. x_X)
10:00 - chemistry (2 hours of homework)
11:30 - lunch (my fave class, social studies)
12:00 - Algebra 2 (its ALGEBRA 2!!! does that NEED explanation? an hour and a half of homework)
1:30 - German 2 (my second fave class like, 30 minutes of homework)
3:00 - go home (do all my homework *which pretty much means playing my bass until I'm forced to start my real homework*)

this is my class schedule at my school, S.V.S. its a home school-support-school-thing, for home schoolers who want to graduate high school and actually go to college and all that jazz. (that's me) so yes, i am home schooled. it has its pros and cons, and depending on what time of the month you ask me, i hate it or i love it. it all just depends. i love my friends here though, we've got a great mix of high schoolers, (okay, not really a mix, most are punk-emo) but hey, that's my crowd!! i love those guys... most of the time. i only GO to school 2 days outta the week. (jealous? don't be.) on Monday and Wednesday I've got the schedule above, and on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday my mom makes me get up and do home school work and other homework, so contrary to popular belief, home schoolers DO NOT get to just sleep all day and do whatever they want. at least, not in my house, i cant really speak for the whole population. well, i could. but i wont. ANYWAYS, that's my average day at my not-so-average-school. hope you enjoyed this "day in the life" kinda deal, and have a good day doing whatever you're doing right now.
